I'm just curious as to what fcr carb to use on a 440. It has an edlebrock on it now.
I was thinking a 250f fcr would be better then a 450fcr. So I figured I would get some opinions from other people.

Hi fellow Hoosier, not sure why you think a smaller carb would be better? I ran a Doug Eichner edlebrock for years and it was good but just too stiff a throttle. I haven't read anyone finding a better carb than the trx450R carb, and soft throttle control.

im running a 450 carb on my 440. its ok, nothing to write home about...

the days that it runs poorly far outweigh the days that it runs great. it seems to be very finicky on mine at least. it was even more finicky with the smaller bore stuff i ran previously (416cc). it seems like a constant battle to keep it tuned, i really just gave up, made sure it was rich enough to cover me and left it alone.

ive heard good things about the FCR's though, many here have ran it and had good luck with it.

honestly I ran a fcr39 on my 416 ten years ago and hand down its probably the best carb I have ran not cold blooded tat all like the 400s are and throttle response was great.my current build I got another one to run on it.honestly get the jetting correct and you wont be disappointed I think the 440s can handle the fcr 40 though.
