So what ya think of the schedule and classes?
No race for Mr.Osborn (I think is his name) in Ohio. :(
I'm presuming that WMX is women!?
I see a 40+ B/C..I don't quite understand that one. Rocky must have complained.
But seriously, I don't recall that many 40+ers. Only a cpl times has there been the need of a LCQ. Only at LL that I know of.
The production rule is only for a few classes now. I feeel that this can be a good thing.
Too bad the Mountain Dew guy is from MN. I see ya'll are going there again.

Women's 35+ ???
Girls 8-13 90cc ???
Max age for CVT in 2017 13yo ???

When I get my powerball $$$ I will make sure there are classes that make sense.

Max age for 90cvt should be 15years old but we age out after this year anyway.

I'm ok with the age limits set for cvt's. the auto sr. and 90CVT only had 2 or 3 riders all year anyhow.
Alabama and Mn. are about the same distance for us so no big deal I guess. Texas is a stretch for us but we'll be there!!

the big surprise for me is that the 90 classes are not sold out yet for Daytona!!!! I heard a whole bunch of crying last year about being left out, well, lets go guys, SIGN UP or SHUT UP!!

yes, WMX is women.
the Ohio guy is Osborn, Briarcliff mx. I had heard some rumors we were going back, my sources obviously were not good ones.

Yeah 90cvt did fine last year. Was no need to cut it out but I am happy that we have a place to run our cvt at 15yrs old this year.

I think cutting 90 auto Sr. And jr would have been smarter if they had to cut any. I think just having one 90 cvt class would have a full gate, maybe even heat races.

90 auto sr.......3, 1, 6, 4, 1, 4, 2, 4, 4, 8.
and did you happen to see the man/child with the full beard on the podium for 90cvt at Loretta's? no need for that to continue.

The guy with the beard should have been protested. I bet he was over 15 and I know for a fact he had been racing in an amateur class before. I think maybe he was up there.

I don't think this would have been good.Keep it jr and sr. There should be a lot of jr that move up from last year and I think a few moving from 50cc into the jr class.

I know for a fact he was 15. and he never raced an amateur class. he raced school boy jr, school boy sr. and youth all-star. it's no different then our first year, the man/child that won sr. and cvt announced at the banquet that year that he would be running B class the next year. no need for that.

the kids name is Rian Smittle, look it up, you wont find him in any amature classes.

you know what you heard, I know what I saw! the parents had the birth certificate in their pocket as they knew it would be protested. he was legal, only by a few weeks, but legal none the less

if you get it back to 15 for the cvt's, i'll build jake a new apex and make a title run in 2018!! heck, lets get Thatcher and Ford to build for that year also and watch everyone start screaming "that aint fair, they are to old for that!"

they would be right, it aint fair, and shouldn't be allowed.

Who care's if Jake runs or not. Run him on one this year if he is the right age.

Totally agree there are too many 90 classes. I'm sure the statement that the atva made that they were changing the age limit for cvt's to 12 in 2015 probably hurt the numbers. I haven't checked but it also seemed like there were more mods 70 and 90 last year. 90cvt, 90 shifter and 90 open would be plenty and still give everyone two classes.

who cares, ummm, good question. but I imagine the group from down around your area that mumbled under their breath all year that he was over the age limit, or the group from the north east that mumbled all year that our motors were illegal, or maybe the group from way down south that tried to discourage buyers from purchasing my used stuff. but as normal, a lot of mumbling and complaining but no one had the sack to step up and protest.

back to the topic, their are 14 and 15 year olds that have no business on a super mini, 300 or a 250mod and should stay on a cvt, however I don't believe those kids are running the series or ever will.
as far as jake, he wont be back in cvt land, he will be the first to tell you he'd rather race in the middle/back of the pack with the big boys than lead by 30+seconds. don't get me wrong, he wants to win, but wants challenged for that win. so I guess what I'm saying is...just because you can, doesn't mean you should.

A CVT is a type of transmission nothing more. Riding a CVT is not and should not be commensurate with a riders skill level.

Well I have never said ya'll were cheating or thought he was to old. But any way like you said lets forget that.

This year we will run our last year of 90sr and should do well and will be getting into the shifter classes for the first time. If I don't get a built motor back in time then I don't expect much. Honestly I don't know what to expect because he has not rode a shifter very much at all with the amount of rain fall we have had this summer.

Women 35+.... Rocky will do anything to get a class he can do well in..:D :D

I've seen these women roll... I ain't got nothing for them! Jack, I thought you were pushing for that +60 class?? I figured you had Metamucil and FiberOne as the class sponsors...

Rocky, your close! +58 class and it's Geritol and Viagra.
I rebuilt my 250R! The way I look at it is I only have about 3/4 of a good lap in me so I'm going to get out in front of all I can and let the 2 stroke smoke confuse the others like a swarm of bee's. Goofy 4 pokers aint used to that. :D

The LAST thing you need is Viagra Jack! The world is a much safer place without you and Viagra... Just saying. BUT, don't be surprised if Visnic don't invite you over... I hear he is into that kinda "thing". :blah:

Nope not even a phone call about it. Briarcliff was never a consideration. I brought it up during a phone call about the Area Qualifier, and I got "not my department". Probably for the best, I'm not sure i want to got through that again. Plates pretty full with the kids starting to dabble in racing too. I still got a few event shirts for the memories, but i will probably never forget it with or without the shirt.

hey Jack.......you need to change the thread name to "hey you 6 guys" Mr. Osborn is still with us, he makes 6 still hanging around on here. hopefully get up to the cliff this summer. rarely do we get to ride locally between nationals, but definitely hope to do more local stuff this year.

I see that! Lol...
Mr. Osborn seems like a very nice fella. I know he put a ton of sweat and tears into his track not to mention the tremendous outlay of money.
IMO, nice fella and promoters group isn't usually in the same sentence.

Having been in the promoting game over 10 years now, I'm smart enough to take compliments when I can. Thank you Jack.

We have come along way since 2014. I think we will continue to hone our craft and be much more ready if it ever happens again. Since that day, my first thoughts have been "slow down the track" and I think we are getting there. The Battle for Ohio State Championship round 3 last August had 0 squad runs, goose egg, zip, zero, nada. That's was 650ish entries. Mainly a dirt bike event, but we did have 123 atv entries, and heck I didn't even get to race, ha ha. I just put together a six5 Yfzr, first new Atv since 2003! So Im looking forward to racing some this year, and watching my kids race those dang DRR things. Should be a fun year. Stay warm guys!
