93 LT 80 Battery Draining

I have a 93 LT 80 and the battery keeps draining. It will start off a fresh battery which I installed yesterday ran for a bit, let it sit, then would turn over once and not start. I rebuilt the starter, put that on a different battery spins well. Possible things I can think of are starter relay, bad magneto, or loose wires. Any input would be appreciated.

Welcome to the forums.
Look under the hood and make sure the red/white wire is connected.
To test the charging coil: the book says: disconnect red/white wire. Run motor 5000 rpm's. Check the voltage between the red/white wire and ground. Under 28 and it's bad.

Thanks, I'll check those out this weekend. Is there a voltage regulator on these machines? I know from snowmobiles that's usually the first thing to check when a battery isn't recharging on an electric start setup.
