I like the 8 inch better, it rides smoother with an 18 inch tire and any other difference is hardly noticeable.

If you want tires asap better get 8 inch because no one has 9 inch tires at all. They say there is at least a 2 week wait on them, but it could be longer. Most places have the 8 inch MX tires in stock.

Good Luck

8 INCH SUCKS!

The 9" is well worth the wait. 8' likes to flex alot in corners and will hook up in a slide unexpectedly (broken collar bone :( ). 8" does ride slightly smoother, but as long as you dont ride in extremely ruff stuff all the time, the 9inch is definatley a better handling set-up. I have ridden 8", 9", AND 10". The 10's are too ruff (yet do wonders on a TT track!), and the 8's have too much flex (awesome in XC).
8 inch weighs MORE also.

If you dune- 10"
You ride XC - 8"
You MX- 9"

I was just thinking about this today. I am thinking about getting some turfies for the rear. Why is the 20x11x9 like an average of $20 more than the 20x11x8's? Is the 9 that much better or more popular? Is a smaller rim make any difference (noticeable). I have read why you all have wrote, but I am asking about the 20 tall not the 18 tall.

Also is it better/cheaper/easier to order the tire/rim package or to get the rims and tires seperately? I have only ever just bought the tires......the stock rims do just fine, lol! But I need some new ones now. Any help here EX'ers?:D

I don't really know why the 9" would be that much more than the 8"... Probably just because they are more popular. I have only ever bought the 18" tire.

As for ordering the rims and tires, it is better/cheaper/ and easier.
It is better because the company that premounts them has all the right equipment, so any scratches or gouges to the rims are minor, unlike doing it yourself or bringing it to a car shop. It is A LOT cheaper. You will save so much money by buying them at the same time versus buying them seperately. It is also easier this way because you don't have to wrestle with putting them on yourself, or have somebody else do it for you (also cheaper).
The Turf Tamers are a good tire as far as traction goes, but they wear really fast and aren't as tough as some other tires, but you really can't beat the traction. :devil
