Running VIN #'s

Im thinking about buying a used dirtbike very soon, alot of the ones I looked at dont have titles I dont know what year they started issuing them for dirtbikes but the owners are willing to write out a Bill of sale. Does anyone know of whom or where to call or a website to run the VIN just to be sure its legit? Im in PA if that helps. Thanks

If you know anyone who is a cop, they could run the vin. # for you. Or you can call the dept. of motor vehicles.

already called the local PD, and they said they dont do it.

It would have to be a someone you know pretty well to get it done that way, they have to have a reason to run #'s. If they get caught, they lose their pass codes to be able to run the #'s. Next time I see my brother-in-law, I will ask him if it's possible. I know how you feel though, I didn't know that I was getting the title for my r until the day I picked it up.
