Problem with my sportsmen 500

I am new to this but I have a problem with my Polaris 500 sportsman when I started it idles fine but when I give it gas or if I turn the lights is this my alternator? Any advice would be appreciated

How does it die, does it just shut off like hitting the kill switch or does it sputter, and hesitate before it dies?
