Hey I'm new to this website and I know it's been around for a min. But I'm having problems with my Yamaha warrior 350. Okay here's the issues ..... when I go start it (cold start) it smokes but after it warms up it doesn't when (idle) it doesn't smoke anymore . BUT when I push down the throttle all the way down or rev it and let go of the throttle it smokes a little AFTER I LET GO OF THE THROTTLE IT SMOKES BUT NOT TOO MUCH. what should it be ? Rings or valve seals??? Or maybe rebuild??? I really need help before I take it to the shop and they charge too much just to see what's wrong with it. Please help and thank u

What up Romero, What I would do is a leak down test to find out if your passing by the rings or your passing by the valves, this is done with an air compressor (http://www.amazon.com/s/?_encoding=UTF8&camp=1789&creative=390957&field-keywords=air%20compressor&linkCode=ur2&rh=n%3A228013%2Ck%3Aair%20compressor&tag=leads4million-20&url=search-alias%3Dtools&linkId=MFZEQ6FBR6Z6YHLX) and a leak down tester (http://www.amazon.com/s/?_encoding=UTF8&camp=1789&creative=390957&field-keywords=leak%20down%20tester&linkCode=ur2&rh=n%3A228013%2Ck%3Aleak%20down%20tester&tag=leads4million-20&url=search-alias%3Dtools&linkId=XSPM66BAPRQP5DCY) what you do is screw the leak down tester (http://www.amazon.com/s/?_encoding=UTF8&camp=1789&creative=390957&field-keywords=leak%20down%20tester&linkCode=ur2&rh=n%3A228013%2Ck%3Aleak%20down%20tester&tag=leads4million-20&url=search-alias%3Dtools&linkId=XSPM66BAPRQP5DCY) into the spark plug hole and make sure the engine is at TOP DEAD CENTER on the compression stroke, hold the flywheel or the crank somehow (screwdriver, socket) and let the air go to it, and listen for the crank case breather for air leakage for bad rings or listen by the muffler for exhaust valve leakage or listen by the carburetor throat for intake valve leakage or listen by the cylinder head for air leakage for a blown head gasket, this is how you diagnose and find out if you need valves or rings or neither :D it is an amazing tool must have for every garage :D
