I've Know That You Can Put A 89 CR250r Gasket On A TRX250r & Raise The Compression.... Can You Do This & Still Run On Pump Gas? Or Do You Have To Run Race Gas? Thanks :)

On my friends 89' he runs premium okay. I have yet to even start mine with that set up. It should be okay. If you do get some ping you should be able to mix a gallon or 2 of race fuel to fix it. Either way I plan on mixing 50/50.

k Thats What I Was Thinking But I Don't Want To Risk It & Deffinetelly Don't Want To Pay For Race Gas... I Think I'm Going To Go With A 85 ATC250r Gasket I Heard They Are Thinner Than A TRX250r Gasket But Not As Thin As The CR Gasket, So Pump Gas Will Be Just Fine.

I think the ATC gasket is the same. If you have a honda shop close by ask to compare them. Thats what I do.

86 ATC Is The Same, But the 85 Is Thinner By .010, I Think It Was Like .055 For A Stock Gasket, .045 For The ATC & Like .020 For The CR250 Gasket - Something Very Close To Those Numbers Anyways.

The CR gasket is 1 of the 4 pleats that make up a TRX head gasket.

Race gas is more purely refined, and much more consistent. At the pump it isn't always the same ocatane, and it can contain alcohol or oxygenates. Both of which are bad for your motor and alter jetting. It is also leaded most of the time which helps lube the engine much better.
