should i check out the bottom end?

i am planning on picking up my new R soon (2-4 weeks) and want to know what too look for to see if i need to re-do the bottom end. I plan on doing it wnyway when i start to do motor work, but i dont want to screw myself over by waiting on doing the rebuild. It hopefully will be an 89, but i havent found one yet. So should i worry about the bottom end or not?

Only worry about the bottom end if something doesn't sound kosher down there on the test run.
