It either goes over the front of the snorkel under gas tank, or over the hole in the air box after snorkel is removed. Never saw one before, I have my snorkel removed and a cap over the hole. Outer wear over the filter and a outerwear filter over the air box.

Yea, it's to go over the end of the stock intake under the gas tank to help with prevent water ingestion. I actually bought 1 awhile back when I was doing a lot if creek riding with my 400. It does help significantly when you get it jetted right. But with all the mods I had done I was loosing too much power to use it with the lid and factory snorkel, even after I dremeled out the end of the snorkel so it wasn't restricted it still was too much of a loss. If you have moderate mods (slip-on, stage 1 cam, filter, etc.) and you do a lot of creek riding or are around water a lot then it is definitely worth it. I think I ended up with a 135 or something close to that for the main to get it to run all the way to WOT without it sputtering. It was like I went back to a stock machine when I did that though.

I just bought one a week ago actually. I put it on the airbox hole because i dont use the dumb snorkle. Its circular and fits perfectly on the airbox hole once you take the snorkle off.
