Hey guys, havnt been on this site in forever..
Anyways im changing the crank seals, balancer shaft seal, and balancer shaft bearings on a friends '07 450er, as i was about to put the gear on the crank for the counter balancer, something fell from where i dont know and onto the floor. This is what it looks like and i think it came from around the starter clutch area. I looked through diagrams on partzilla and at pictures i took while tearing it down and cant find for the life of me where it came from, any help would be greatly appreciated.17181088141718108814

Looks like its the decompression arm off of the cam

Bingo. Its the "weight" of the decompression mechanism. Im sure the spring is long gone too. Was the quad starting fine? I know you can run the 400ex without the decompressor but i tried taking one off a 450 years ago and kicking it was impossible.

Thanks a bunch guys thats exactly what it was. Still not sure why it decided to jump out of there but luckily the spring and washer are still there:cool:
