Hit the front side of a double today and cracked the back frame. The mud bogged me down a little and I didn't have enough acceleration off of the top.

Anyways, I'm 90% certain the bike hit right in front of the back tires because the back frame cracked on one side right where the bolts attach it to the front. I continued to ride the bike for another 10 minutes or so when one of the people I was riding with noticed it.

My worry is this; I installed the big 3 "Exhaust, filter and programmer" and I'm not sure if that is going to void my warranty even though it has nothing to do with the frame. The bike is barely over 3 months old and I'm wondering if Yamaha insurance will take care of it.

It's my understanding Yamaha covers the insurance for 6 months?

Thanks much,
Davies

Did you keep your stock stuff? If so throw it back on just in case. It shouldn't void the frame warranty but I wouldn't give them any benefits.

x2 on that one. Yamaha should cover that under the factory warranty no questions asked. If they don't then I would never buy from them again. Haven't seen many newer aluminum frames crack like that.

I'll give them a call and post the results. Thanks for the replies.
