2013 Honda 450R Why Does engine hold less than 1 qt of oil?

Just wondering what the theory is behind this. I have had some older ones and I am pretty sure they held more than a quart of oil. Thanks.

they have seperate oil for each side of the engine (engine and clutch side) so really it's a bit less than 2 qts in total which isn't outrageous compared to the other 450s

Just change it often!
