Ignition Booster

Just wanting to get your guys opinion on something I found that I was thinking of buying. Seen this ad in Dirt Wheels and didn't think too much of it, especially after seeing the price for what you're buying. But what do you guys think about ignition coil boosters? Are they worth the price? Or are they just snake oil?

Ignition boxes are a complete wast of time and money for the ex.

Pretty positive it wont do much. I tried a few rev boxes back in the day, only one that worked-white bros, everything else was junk.

slightlybent and CJM said. waste of money. dirtwheels is just a cool advertisement if you ask me. many of the products they promote are junk.

I don't think he is talking about CDI guys. I've seen the coil boosters out there and have wondered myself, but have yet to see anyone do a write up or dyno runs to prove them......without that I usually pass on stuff.

Yea, it's an ignition coil spark booster, not a CDI of any kind. It's kind of self explanatory if you click the link....

WOW the scammers dont even try anymore. Its pretty disapointing that they dont even use technical mumbo jumbo or fake videos. The tech section of the website is good for a laugh though.

As long as the spark is hot enough to make it pop, making it hotter wont do anything.
The only possible exception would be a very high compression motor where your running a very high octane.

That's what I thought. $90 is a bit insane for what you are getting, and with an only slightly modified engine like mine (EHS lid, UNI filter, 450 carb., high compression 407 and exhaust) I doubt it would even be noticeable. I'll save my money for something else.
