Teather kill switch...not workiing

Ok, I wired up the bike the way G-force has on their website but if i try to ground out the coil or the stator to kill the engine it does nothing. Only way to kill the engine is pull the hot wire going to the coil. The teather works fine as I ohmed it out. Maybe I'm doing somnething wrong? I didnt run a ground from the engine to the frame as I was getting continunity from engine to frame with no ground strap. Any ideas?

I'll answer my own question! LOL Well I installed one of the "racing" CDI that come with a new DRR, got it from a friend, and wired it the same way. Now the engine dies when you ground out the coil. So it looks like there is something wrong with my stock coil.
