Okay so I've been wanting to trade my 250r for a quad again cause the bike is sketchy to me. I had the motor completely rebuilt top to bottom and I've maybe put 4-5 hours on it so far. Feel a lot better in a quad. But I don't want to trade for just any quad. I've had it on Craigslist for awhile saying I would only trade for a 450 quad. Since that's what I want. Had a 400ex in the past and want more power so a 450. But I got offer a on a built 400ex with a 440 big bore and a bunch of other stuff. ( picture will show everything the person has said it has) I know it's all up to me and the risk is all mine, but I just want some opinions on what you guys think. Is it a good trade? How are the 440? Are they reliable? Are the add ons good? Do the cams make it rattle? And etc.17181081871718108188

Not a good trade, ive owned both and dont reccomend trading my 440 was a MX quad for years then was my 440ex drag quad for many after. Since then ive built a cr250r hybrid 400ex, I would reccomend building that since you already have a cr250. I pieced a 400ex frame together from ebay for less then $600 then installed my cr250 motor for less then $100.

If you trade from a 400ex to a cr250 youll be disappointed, if you go from cr250 to 440ex youll be disappointed its just 2 polar opposites. But if you merge the 2 youll be pleasently surprised with the results, which is a faster lighter more agile 400ex better suited for racing enviroment but also fun for everyday riding.

If you decide to trade, a properly jetted 440ex is just as reliable as any bore 400ex and runs just as cool with the temps and will run faster then then any other bore 400ex other then 460 strokers and some tick or rattle but there is ways to get rid of it.

Theres alot of haters here so take opinions lightly and go by things people have actually done and tested not just by someone saying its wrong.

Tell him to get the hub.. But if not they are cheap and don't worry about the top end ticking it's very common
