I'm looking to upgrade the suspension on a 06 trx90. I know there are dual aarm conversions that use 300ex front end. Has anyone put a Honda 450r front end on a trx90? Just curious because I have several stock 450 front end just laying around in the garage, any info would be great. Thanks.

Mcvay did a conversion years ago with modified 400ex arms and 300ex spindles. We had one of his set-ups when my daughter first started racing. It was an improvement over stock but so many other options that really work. Heres a few pics.. Green A-arms are Fincher racing, this set up could be for sale for the right price, looking to see complete quad. Pink arms are Kids On Quads set up, and the old body quad has the Mcvay 300/400ex set up

Thank you for the info. Another question is, what did you do with the rear end of the quad?

Fincher? Typo?

Either one. I've heard that 300ex rear ends will bolt up with little modification. I have a 300ex that I'm going to use for the front end but was wondering what needs to be done to the rear to make the width match the front. If 300ex rear end will work I'll use that. I'm just trying to get a little better suspension all around without spending to much money. The boy is to young to race it yet so I don't want to dump a lot of money into if it's just going to be for trail riding.

No typo. Fincher Racing (Dion Fincher), if I recall he bought out Profab. Not to be confused with Fischer the mini GOD...lol

300ex front ends will be a nightmare, just saying. Even with our Mcvay front end, still didnt handle great, just wider with a little more travel. If you move the swingarm plates on the frame a 300ex rear will fit, there again, you'll need a custom stock to make it handle right. Ive said this before after spending tons of $$ on TRX90's over the years, the best upgrade for a trail rider would be a good set of shocks all the way around & good wheel / tire set up. Once they out ride that, prob will be time to move up a quad. Just my $.02

Thank you for the input/info. Like I said I have a 300ex to use but if it turns out to be a nightmare I'll know what to look for now. Thanks again for the help.
