Can I put a 250x motor in a 300ex frame

I know I can put anything in frame and fabric to make it work. But will it bolt right in. I would be swapping out the control arms and swing arm off the 87 250 x. I am told it can't be done but don't understand why

I don't know of any reason why you cant. I have one of each here in my shop and I don't see any difference other then a battery box.

Thanks. I would think my only issue would be the mounting taps for all the plastics
