All right guys, there has been a lot of debate over my friends and me lately. We were wondering what would win in a drag race between a Honda 250R and a banshee, both bone stock. . I know that 250R's would smoke a banshee on the track, and in most trails because of their sweet handeling, what do you think? Banshee or 250R???

i think the shee would take it in the drag if the conditions were good because of the shee's crappy tires but i don't know who all depend on lenght, rider, conditons, and skill :)

since your question said in a drag race and stock for stock. The winner would be the banshee.

a stock 250r will loose to a stock banshee, I know I dragged one! But a moodded r will spank a banshee!!! A stock 250r is coser to a 400ex in speen and power, more top end though!

I agree. And like almost everybody else said, the 250r will dominate in every other thing.

I don't know bout yall but in my opinion I would rather have a banshee simply because they are easier to get than a R, and a whole lot cheaper to repair. Now, I ain't in to drag racing all that much, but I still would rather have the shee. But hey, that is jus me!:D

I see most of you have leaned towards the shee in a drag.I told my friends different because my friend had a stock 250R except for light aluminum rims and hole shot XC's, and his brother had a piped, jeted, and lightend banshee. The 250R kid said he could beat his brother in a drag, but I guess he must been blowin smoke out his As*!!

Stock vs stock the shee will win the drag race. u need to remember that shee's might be easier to find but if u want to drag a banshee u will need two of everything (2 pipes, 2 silencers, 2 airfilters, 2 carbs, etc). 250rs get better traction and they are alot lighter than a banshee making them a good quad for drag racing if built for it. i once owned a yamaha and i will never own another one unless the come out with a yzf426 quad. the attention to detail on the honda is sooo much better. i mean i can change my main jet on my R in 30 seconds, i can change a plug in a minute, i can pull off all my plastics in a minute, its much easier to check the oil on a 250r. all these things would take alot longer on a banshee. so i u want something that costs a fortune to modify, weights alot, gets no traction, falls apart all the time, and is a pain in the ***** to work on get a banshee. the only flaw about 250r's is that its getting harder to find one in good condition.

Banshees are king of the drag race. Yes, they cost alot to modify because you have to buy two pistons, two exhaust, and it costs more to increase the stroke on a banshee than a single piston, but, it's all those things that make a banshee what it is: a very fast engine. It handles like crap, but it sure will go fast in a straight line.

shee will win the battle in drag but not the war in any other type of race.

i know i will probably get flamed for this but i dont even think banshee's are that great in drag racing. the only banshee's i've ever seen that impressed me were a few with +10 swingarms on the back running on alcohol at silverlake and even they werent that impressive too me. when i just had a pipe/airfilter i waxed alot of piped banshees and stock ones were a joke. now that i have a lrd ported cylinder, 38mm carb, milled head (race gas) i think i will totally wax the piped ones. even on asphalt, banshees have a hard time getting traction and there close geared transmissions make them hard to shift . if i were all for drag racing no doubt i would own a tecate 250r or lt500.
