So I hate to put this here but ill actually get a response because there is traffic on this part of the forum... Here is a copy and paste from the Blaster sub forum..

So a friend of mine just got a Blaster given to him by a friend of his. It needed some minor work done so I am taking care of it for him as he doesn't know what to do and I figured I could save him some $$ vs. going to a dealer. When I got the thing in my possession, it started right up but then rev'd very high when the choke was off as gas poured out of the overflow.. Ok, perhaps the float is stuck and its causing it to flood? The next logical thing to do was pull the carb apart and clean it.. I have done this with many 400ex carbs without issue (they are much simpler BTW). So, the blaster carb was clean and I put it back on, now it wont start.. WTF? is my thinking.. I check fuel valve.. it pours when on. I figured it may have flooded but there is no overflow, I put the whole quad vertical to see if it would overflow.. Nothing.. So now it is not getting gas. I put it all apart, all looks good. I connect it to the fuel supply with the hose off and turn the fuel on and it flows fine.. I hold the bowl on without screwing it in, fuel drips out. I screw everything back on, no fuel. I turn the carb every which way and nothing leaks out even tho the fuel is on. This has be quite perplexed.. Any ideas?

id try blowing compressed air through the fuel inlet on the carb, maybe its stopped up or has some trash inside the passages somewhere?

Gunk in the tank?

It ran before I cleaned it, just not good which indicated it needed to be clean. Tank is fine as the fuel flows thru the carb until I put the bowl back on.. Perhaps the float is sticking or something. The carb was spotless when I pulled it apart which has me at a loss for how it ran prior to pulling it apart. I am going back at it tonight...

what about the vent on the gas cap? it almost sounds like vapor lock (i think thats what u call it?). take the cap off the tank and see if it changes anything?

double check that your float moves freely i had a similar problem on a ttr125 (must be yamaha thing XD) any i took the float completely out and ran a pipe cleaner through the that line, make sure your float needle looks good.

Thanks guys.. For some reason it miraculously started this am. I noticed it was dripping some gas out of the overflow and it started and I ran it around the neighborhood and let it idle for about 20 minutes.. It still surges a bit at idle and leaks from the overflow when off.. While the float appeared to move freely when I had the bowl off, I am suspecting it needs a more detailed cleaning... Ill be getting on that tomorrow.

There is gunk in the needle valve or the rubber tip is damaged. Could be a possible o ring in there as well that has dry rotted, cracked etc. check that out next.

Well it looks like all is well now. I pulled the carb apart and this time I look the whole needle and float assembly apart. It looked clean but I scrubbed everything down and reinstalled.. It now runs perfect and idles nice. I took it out for a test run where I could run it fast and it worked beautifully. Definitely more pep than I expected for a 200 and definitely a different power delivery than the 400... Thanks for the help guys.. Now if I can figure out why the last person to change the rear brake pads forgot a crucial piece which caused a failure of the rear brake cable ill be happy. Luckily it is less than a $30 fix..
