Hello everyone! I was going through my carb today and on the diagram linked below, part #2 (right above part #16) fell out. Although the picture doesn't show it very well, one side is skinnier than the other. Does anyone know which way this goes? Thank you for your time!

Skinny end goes down.

Thanks for the response! I have fuel coming out of the overflow tube. Would this have anything to do with that? I also need to recheck the float and needle/seat as well.

Float. Clean where the float needle goes.

Just got done taking everything apart/cleaning again and adding an inline fuel filter. This piece will only fit one way; with the skinny side going up. Can anyone confirm this. Thanks!

Thought you were talking about the needle itself, after looking again at your description and diagram I see its another part. I suggest you put it in the only way it goes if thats the case.

that is how it goes. you were misled previously. As CJM said just continue and put it in the only way it will go. Did you get the float reset, most often they get stuck and that's why you had fuel coming out the overflow.

Thank you both for the replies! The carb is cleaned and back together. I am waiting to get the fuel filter so hopefully this won't happen again.
