I recently replaced my front wheel bearings but when I put them back on there is play when the hub is on the spindle.(slightly shifts back and forth) I tried to tighten up the spindle nut but that just makes the hub stop spinning. Am I missing something here? Thanks

Did you keep the spacers that go in there? Off the top of my head I think there is a tapered spacer that goes between the bearings and another spacer that goes between the nut and the outer bearing

Is it on the schematic? I might have to tear it apart again and make sure. Since it's tapered should I try to smack it on with a hammer and block of wood or something?

Yah hard to tell by the drawings but you need #2, #3 & #5 (the three collars) Make sure you have those because if you dont you will beputting too much stress on the bearings.

I know that I have the 2 and 3 collars.. Maybe I misplaced the 5 tapered collar.. Assuming that I didn't because I've been riding for awhile with no problems.. Maybe the collar is sliding up on the tapered part all the way.. I feel like if I tap it with a hammer on the hub it will slide up all the way

There is a spacer that goes on both sides of the hub outside the bearings. Also there is a tapered spacer that goes in between the bearings. The taper of the spacer matches the taper of the spindle. Sounds like you left out one of the outer spacers. I've done that by mistake and when I tightened the nut the hub wouldn't turn.
