Hey guys i race xc and as most know those races are usually pretty muddy/wet. I didnt want to spend 100+ on a powerlid but wanted the protection of one, so i made my own.

i started with my stock lid

then used a jigsaw or dremel and cut the biggest squared you can in the lid. basically go corner to corner on it. then drop in the filter. it willbe a fairly tight fit.

And it will look something like such. use a latex adhesive to seal it in. and get any small gaps caused by the awkward fit. this way when ny filter is worn you can take a razor blade cut it out and replace it. The filter i got was a the cheapest i could find. It was like $5 at advance auto. below is a table showing what it is equal too you can get an actual K&N tooi believefor $40.
