i am getting one of these quads. i love everything about the 400ex except no reverse or liquid cooling. i have a 250x right now so air cooling wont be a big deal but it would be nice. i would like u to post ur dealer prices and what u think of the quads. i dont have alot of money and i hear dealers r giving good prices on these. personally i prefer honda but might end up with a z. i would like anyone selling there ex or z for less than 3000 to let me know. they said u can get a new 400ex for 3900 so i WOULD not pay more for a used one built or not id rather build it myself. let me know of the dealer prices near u and ur price ur asking for ur quad. u cna compare these 2 here too. im into trail riding and i ride with raptors and a few other 4 wheelers and id like to keep up alittle better. i am also interested in a 250r, shee,or 300ex but i really dont want one but since money is an issue i might end up with one but i dont want to. thanx and please reply

Arg...kids these days type worse than ever. :p

Personally, I would suggest you save what you can...maybe mow yards this summer? That can pay pretty good. Work for your grandparents...anything you can think of. I would suggest you work for a Z/KFX. I like 400exs and all but it's just falling behind the pack and once Yamie and Honda release new bikes you will be yearning for something even bigger. I would go with the Z/KFX b/c they offer more power to work with and will last longer in the market than the 400 will if you buy one now. Its gonna be a personal opinion on what you prefer though when it comes down to it, test both out and see what you like best.

JMHO. :)

i plan on working at my house and my grand parents this summer. once i sell my x i will have over 2000 so thats a good start. once i turn 15 in late april i iwll have the cash rolling in and be able to make payment if it comes down to it but id rather not have ot pay interest and have the extra cash to mod it. thanx for ur opinion its most likly gonna be between a white x or a 400ex(color undecided). im leaning towards the ex b/c of price and looks and there are no problems to worry about. plus it doesnt go as fast so i dont have to worry about getting hurt as bad b/c its slower but i know i know if im gonna get hurt im still gonna get hurt. i just wish it had reverse thanx for ur opinion

True Lathers, but it will take much more than a pipe.

And if you do go with the 400ex fiff, get a used one. You can find several mint condition used 400s for much cheaper than a new one. You'll have to put a good chunk of money in it to make it stay with the Zs and KFXs, but it should suit you well if you are not planning on racing through the woods. :)

in the one post u cna get a z for 4500 and a 400ex for like 3900 new. this is awesome but the used prices are sitting around there too. so whats ur dealer prices? i love honda but i think id miss reverse ALOT and liquid cooling wound be nice i just dont like hte plastic or the problems of the z. alimate stock quad for me is a z motor in a 400ex everything else cause i like the look and quality of honda.

Well, the Z hasnt had many problems, and those it did have have been for the most part corrected by Zuki.

I can get a new 03 400ex for roughly 4,400 while on the other hand I could get a new Predator 500 for 5,400. I havent got a quote on a Z yet, there are no dealer websites listed in my area that ive found yet. I need to look. But anyways...go for a mint 400ex if thats the bike you want. Otherwise, if you want a new bike, save the extra $600 and get the Z. :)

The frame hasn't been fixed yet, I heard quite a few cases of them cracking. Personally, I would go with the EX, its a well proven machine, and you can pick one up for a good price.

Yeah, the frame is a little on the weak side, but all it needs is to be guesseted.

I still havent got that quote on the KFX yet, but Im guessin 5K.
400ex-$4,400
Pred 500-$5,400

Thats what the prices are running around here. Anyone want to buy at 250ex for $2200 and donate another $1800?

No offense but theres no way in hell I would be excited to gusset and repowder the frame on my brand spankin new quad :ermm:

BTW, I have a buddy who recently bent his axle...so hes not too happy at this point with his Z...hes only 15 and all he has been doing is fixing problems that shouldn't be there in the first place.

Hey Striker...I suggest the Pred for you! When Honda and Yamaha release their new quads....we'll still be able to hang with them....screw the Z, too weak!

If I didnt get a Pred, my second choice was a 400ex.

Chicago cycle center has new Z's listed for 4595 under their Hottest Deals link. That's a good deal.

I see a ton of ads every week in a top notch publication and no one I mean no one has prices as low as Chicago Cycle Center, and usually he throwing in 3 or 400 dollars worth of stuff on top of that.

How do you like your Predator? I am undecided on a Predator or a Z.
Have you noticed any problems with the Predator?
Can it wheelie?

If I didnt get a Pred, my second choice was a 400ex. What happened you must have been beaten by a Z to be so harsh....Did u ever ride one?
