Ok.. My buddy bent his front rim up yesterday while riding and now he needs a new front rim. They want $120 bucks for one OEM rim when I found some ITP race rims for $92 bucks a peice. He just wants to buy a OEM rim when you can buy 2 race rims for only about 40 bucks more. Are race rims more durable then stock rims and is it worth it for the money to go with race rims?? whats the best and cheapest race rim out there?

I would tell him to buy a set of Douglas Rolled Edge front wheels, I think their about $180 or so new and much better than ITP's in my opinion, or you could even pick up a used OEM front rim on eBay, their on there all the time.

if he want cheap get a set of used honda aluminum ,but if he wants to spend a little on a great rim check out doglas or hi per. the hi per carbon fiber are trick.

Actually no. Douglas Blue labels are alot weaker than stock 400ex rims ;)

WRONG!;)
Blue labels are tin foil compared to stock rims:p
Stock rims are about the best except for reinforced rims:)

Blue labels (.125's) are fine for the dunes if your not getting huge air or riding in real rough terrain. I have my paddles on .125's and they are holding up o.k.....a few dents but still holding air;)

I saw a set of stock rims last weekend at a race where a guy just got some rings from OMF or somebodyand had the rings welded in his stock rims. It looked really good, and would be really strong. I would get OMF Race Rims or Beadlocks of some kind...

Maybe for dunes the 125's are ok..But like only 5% of the atvs ride the dunes just to cruize around...But more like 20% of them go there to get some killer air.I wouldnt suggest 125's personally for a lawn mower:blah

My friend ran .125's on paddles and we were jumping a 40ft double at silver lake and he bent the one rim in almost half:eek2: My bro's running .160 and hasn't had much trouble, but i run .190's. I going to order hiper beadlocks though for my paddles i keep blowing the tire off if i jump to high! I'm going to silver lake in 2 weeks i'll get sum video

moral is, just break down and buy hipers or a strong .190

.125's are useless... and as far as .160 and .190 i think you hould base that on how aggressive you are and what you are riding on.

Your numbers may be a bit of IMO;) Not that it matters:blah :D

The only reason I have .125's is because they came with quad when I bought it;) And they are on the rear. I will never buy .125.

I have 2 beat up ITP .190 fronts (with very few rides) and 1 bent(unusable) stocker. For me, it appears, the fronts get more abuse than the rears.

My .125 rears have seen ALOT more use than the .190 fronts, and are in better condition:confused:

If I ever buy "new" rims they will be ringed:) Other than tht i'll stick with used stockers;)

I do some fairly hard riding. I have heard that the .125's are junk too. Can I get away with buying the .160's or should I buck up for the .190's? I don't need something bulletproof, but I need something that can take a little beating. Are the .160's worth it? Thanks guys!:D

Actually .125's do serve a purpose and arent useless!! I run .125's for the only reason I would really see anyone wanting to,,,DRAG RACING!! Put a set of Ultra Light Haulers on .125's and its as heavy as a piece of paper!! Last time I was on the drag strip I didnt really get a whole lot of air!!:D
