Been looking for awhile. My 6 yr needs a 50 quad. Must be 2 stroke and cvt (auto). Would prefer kfx or other green ones ( fav color) but open to others. Totally stock would be best. Hopefully $800 maybe a grand., accounting that I will spend a few hundred to get it shipped to houston tx and he will outgrow in a year or two. Open to all manufacturers, except Chinese Let me know if you know where I should be looking. $100 finders fee!
Thanks!

You should look for either a DRR DRX, a Apex MXR, E-ton Viper, Bombardier DS, there is not a name brand (kawasaki, honda, yamaha, suzuki) that can touch any of these in price, or performance. There is nothing better than taking my kids riding and having someone ask what kind of quad my kids are on (Apex mxr70, and mxr50) telling me they never heard of it. You can tell by the look in there eye they think there Honda TRX90 is by far the better bike. 10 minutes later after eating dust, dirt, rocks, and getting passed constantly, and getting beat up by there suspension trying to keep up, there kid is begging them for Apex.

I just looked through the classifieds in your area. Tough market for kids quads. I found a couple DRR's, a E-ton, and 1 Apex. All are more than you wanted to spend, but if you don't have to pay shipping, and a finders fee maybe they are in budget. For my money, I would go with the Apex. It has over 1k in aftermarket elka shocks, and if your going to spend that kind of money on shocks, you can bet there is a lot more done to it. It is probably more motor than needed, but you can easily change the clutching to tame it down.
Here is a link to the Apex: http://houston.craigslist.org/mcy/4247590294.html
DRR: http://houston.craigslist.org/sno/4257171709.html
DRR:http://houston.craigslist.org/for/4227367795.html
Eton: http://houston.craigslist.org/sno/4246647803.html If you are going to go with the E-ton, I would not pay any more than 900 for it. The eton is not even on the same planet as the drr, or apex.

The black and green DRR is sold already..

The apex motor is as hot as you can make a stock cylinder motor. You can tame it down some, but it may be more than a handful for a 6 yr old. On the bright side, he could ride it for ~3 yrs or more..
