Figured Id post this here since this you guys are the ones who will want this.

Im selling an 04-05 450r carb for a friend. The carb is literally perfect, it was been powdercoated silver, has the adapter for the 400ex airboot and I have already moved and blocked off the vent line that wont clear the tank. It comes with fuel line but its rather hard and should be replaced since its old. The only thing you will need are the proper jets and to block off the hotstart. My friend nor I have a use for this carb anymore.

$135 shipped to your door. The adapter alone is 50 bucks new.

Shoot me an email or pm thru the forum if your interested.

Question on this carb...

Can anyone tell me what size both spigots are on this carb and how much head room is needed from the top of the spigots to the top of the carb?

I know they are a different size on one side because there is mention of an included adapter?

I haven't seen these installed to know what is needed and I figured someone who has one off for sale could measure it easy.

i can tell you first hand you do not need the adapter, but if you want to keep the intake as wide as the carb you can just go to the hardware store and get rubber gromets, or you can find aluminum tubing that will fit. These carbs go for $50-$75 all day long, i sold one for $60 not all that long ago.

bottom line easiest way to do it is to heat up the intake tube a little and shove the carb in it. it works and ya don't have to buy any adapters. the choke lever can also get in the way, i heated that and bent it a hair. the fcr's are a whole different story to get into the 400's, but the 04/05's are basically bolt on.

here's some info on it mtn http://www.atvriders.com/vbb/showthread.php?425850-MY-05-450r-carb-install-on-01-400ex

What? i was answering mtnex's questions about if they can be installed with adapter and without adapter. the carb is a hair bigger than the 400ex intake so generally you have to heat it up to get it done. please do not assume that i'm starting "crap"

There is more of a problem than just getting the carb to fit into the intake, still issues to address with that method.

fuel line, throttle cable, jetting, grinding the ridges off of the carb where the intake goes on, yes it takes a couple things to make it work, but the adapter is handy no doubt, but if i was mtnex or anybody else doing this mod i'd get the $4 grommet from the hardware store.
