blown 400ex

I found an 05 400ex blown up to build, looks good and has a little aftermarket , needs tires and top end. Is there any way to check the bottem end and head since it doesnt run? hes asking $900, i have him talked down to 550$

Should shift thru all the gears, head would be only able to check if you took it apart.

How is is blown up? Seized up and won't crank? Shoot some wd 40 down the spark plug hole and then take the cap off the side cover and put a breaker bar and socket in there and crank it over.....if it doesn't turn then its seized up good, and then you don't know if the crank is damaged or not....hopefully it just needs bored and a new piston. If the piston came all apart you still would want to split the cases to get all the junk out though,,,,,,good luck.
