Im pretty exited about getting my bike featured in ATV Action magazine. But it looks like their wanting me to get a professional photographer to take pics of it!! Read it from the bottom to the top starting with the my 2nd post! Check it out!

Shoot 100 speed slide film, use flash, and if the sun is out go with f8 and
1/250th of a second *and* bracket. If you can wait, I can send you a few
rolls.

would a good digi cam work for them?

here is the pic i took of my quad do you think that it is good enough quality for them
I dont know. From what he says it seems like he is wanting me to take pics with a high quality camera and send him the negatives to develop! I was wondering that myself!! Man, posting copied emails doesnt turn out well!

Yeah - it sounds to me like he needs you to get a 35mm camera and use the film he recommended along with the film speed and lighting settings. It's cool - he doesn't want you to spend money on a professional (and he'll send you the film!) - that's why he is suggesting some amateur photographers that would do it for free to have their stuff printed in a mag.....there are certain picture formats that are better to reproduce in print - it may sound old fashioned, but the 35mm actual pictures copy better to print. That's why when models do photo shoots and stuff, their pics are taken with regular cameras. (well, really NICE regular cameras! :) )

You should look at a few of his magazines, and look at the pics of the featured quads to see what type of background, how close or far away the quad is - what angle they like to have taken of it - the lighting, etc.....try to mimic that as much as possible. If you find a photographer, give those pics to the person taking the pictures and tell them that is what you need your pic to look similar to...

Good luck - I'm jealous! Let us know when it's on the shelf!

Thank yall for the support!
400grl, you are right and thats basically what he is trying to get me to do. If you read it close he said a college photography student would do it for a credit in a national mag and we will even throw a few bucks their way! I guess he is saying he would even pay them!! Well I know a guy that took our wedding pics and he is real good so Im trying to get ahold of him first to see if he will do it! I will show him a Mag and get him to take the pics that are just like the ones already published! I cant wait, Im so exited!!

Man Shut The F*** Up!

Man, wherever you got off get back on, why you personally attacking him?

Perhaps you should reread this rule #1

1. If you don't like someone, make believe you do or don't respond. Personal attacks will not be tolerated.

Chad,Sorry to intrude on your post.

Every where I post he either makes some very dumb comment and\or calls my bike a POS.
TheChnkhwk, seems to me like this(monkeyboy) guy was the one attacking anybody first, like he has several times, which causes a chain reaction, I think we need to get rid of the problem!
Hit that button Rico:)

I don't know the whole story, but that "Shut the **** UP!" $hit caught me off guard, I guess. I didn't think it was to be tollerated in either direction, but I guess the area is grey & the rules are bendable for some folks. Either way, I don't care anymore & I'm off my soapbox.

...hey chad.....

ur best bet would be to take a bunch differant pics, from differant angle's
....i've got a good commera, and could do it for you, but were to far apart (wanna buy a cammera)

take pics, aginst a white sheet. hang the sheet up and pull all the wrinkles out of it.
(plain white aginst your black quad would make it show up really good)
find a nice plain background. a brick wall would work, as long as there's no stains on the wall. and it looks nice.
like he said find a hill but not a hill with alot of erosion on it. a nice steep smooth grassy hill....since your quad is a flat tracker, maye take a few pics at the track. but without any banner's in the background.
think about what it'll look like it the mag, send in a buncha differnat pics, with differant back grounds, differant angles, i suggest taking pics on the piped side of the quad.
and stand it on it's grab bar to get a good birds' eye shot.
maybe take one of the belly just in case.
and get a good shot of those silver flames on the vents at the front (my vavorite part of your bike)
don't forget to take pics of it without the rear plastic on.
(they all do) also you could try going to the local newspaper.
the photographer's there are usually kids freash out of
high-school photo class's. that have experiance with lighting.
ask for the best. if you go to a school, i'd ask for the teacher to do it.

words mispelt everywhere. i don't know what wrong with me tonite.

you will regret it if you dont casue the moderators will push the red button on you:D

Blahh, I think maybe you have mistaken my quad for someone elses?? You said my black quad?? My frame is black but my plastic is white, Dont have any silver flames on it either,,and its a drag bike, not a TT bike;) But as far as the pics go I will try to get them to get shots from many different angles,,ATV Action is sendin a few roles of film so we will use them all getting as many shots as possible then ATV Action will decide which ones they want to publish!!
yellowrider, I waited on my motor for longer than half a year;) Thanks for all the support guys! Im not sure which issue their going to publish it in but in our emails it does say they might have room in the next issue, my ATV Action subscription was over 2 months ago so I guess I need to renew it!!
