What do you guys suggest running for a slipon? I just getting a slipon for now because i plan on getting a powerbomb header in the future so what do ya think i got it narrowed down to a fmf powercore 4, two brothers, possibly an hmf. Im really leaning towards the fmf because its only $217 shipped

Just go for the fmf, while people say it might not open as much power it will be a great exhaust for you

If you can find a good used system I think you'd be better off in the long run.

You can find them for under $200 often too. I sold a pretty nice Pro Circuit full pipe for $180 about 6 months ago

$150 shipped... These are nice pipes, I had one on my 06 for awhile. Johnny is a great seller too.

I would recommend a full system too. The slip ons do little for performance. If sound is all you are looking for then just keep your eyes peeled for a used slip on. Otherwise, you can find a nice used system for around $200 as mentioned.

Even this would be a better set up then the fmf and only a little more then you're looking to spend on just a slip-on

Hey Hondaracing83, i have a full rossier that I would sell for $200 shipped. It could use a repack but is in good shape other than that, let me know.

$150 shipped is a hell of a deal!! Save that 60 bucks for some oil and filters ;)

You'd be buying it off of pro racer Johnny Hale too :macho (JH Racing)

Pretty cool perk lol

What's HST? I might go the full pipe route

They had sponsored Chad Wienen and Jeremey Lawson in like 07/08.

I'm sure Baileygunns can answer your q's about it, or contact JH Racing himself, he's on the .org quite a bit.

HST is more known in south africa, but they did start making them in cali if i'm not mistaken. It's a cheap pipe that performs well from what I have heard. You will be stretched to find any hard evidence proving exactly how well that pipe performs since it's not nearly as popular as some of the big name pipes. It is a cheaper exhaust, they go for $350 shipped brand new.

Whats the deal with slipons and years theres a cheap pro circuit t4 on ebay but it says fits 04/05. So it wont fit my 08? I thought the only real difference was in headers

2001400exrida
11-29-2013, 10:21 AM
the real difference is where the slip ons mount. Some guys are able to make certain brand slip ons works, but they do have different mounting positions on the 04/05 vs the 06+ sub frames. I ran a pro circuit t4 slip on and thought it was a very well made pipe with good sound. I sold it about 2 years ago.

The only exhaust you will ever need is the hotdogz exhaust, if you can still find one that is! :D

very rare pipe. I was lucky enough to pick one of these full systems up (for $75) and test it out. I was able to compare the hotdogz with several other setups. I ran an ESR, sparks, hmf and the pro circuit slip on. The hotdeogz was right on par with all of the full systems i ran, in fact it felt alot like the sparks. the esr and the hmf full systems carry more torque it feels like. If you can snatch up a hotdogz, i would not hesitate. its china made, but I had great luck with it and the pipe sounds and runs great.

Oh cool! You must have the dyno sheets to back up your claims... Right?

All in all honda83 u would be better off buying a used full system than to buy a new slip on. Id go with
a good brand. I dont know much about HST, but I've bought 2 Rossier pipes and the Dasa I own now used and saved myself alot of $$ in the long run.

I happen to like my HMF, and i liked the sparks i ran before that, as well as the ESR before both of those. but if you want to call it junk that's fine, ya know some guys have to get an ego boost somehow right alan :)

bailey, no dyno's i only have the butt dyno and the "feel factor" to compare these exhausts with. Do you have any comparison or are you just trolling? CJM, you suggested the hotdogz being the only pipe to run, have you ever ran this pipe or are you also trolling because you know I bought one and ran it for a season? This has to stop dudes.....keep your trolling and keyboard warrior beef on the org where it belongs.

Honestly Id just buy an HMF, good quality, about the same power you would make with a dasa and cheaper.

if sound is all you're going for then yeah just pick the one you think sounds the best. That being said, when it comes to performance the fmf's tend to be some of the worst pipes in the trx450r world. They do sound good though :)

i've had this username since 2010, i never left, and i'm not hiding anything. Did i do something to offend you or are you just stirring the pot? I posted these pictures to show the several exhausts that i've run. what value does your post offer?

2001400exrida
12-06-2013, 12:33 PM
what makes them nice? the sound or the performance gain? i actually love how they sound, but i haven't heard anything good about their performance on the trx450r's. the company is well known but from what i have heard they don't perform well compared to some of the other top name pipes. This is just what i've gathered from other peoples opinions. I don't have dyno's to prove it, just going off what i hear.

Honestly they are better than FMF. Comparing my friends brand new FMF to another friends 5 year old HMF is like comparing apples to oranges. FMF is made of cheaper materials, thinner metal, rivets are cheaply done and so forth. They sound the same tho, least I think so.
