I have been thinking about shaving my front fenders. But arent i going to get covered in mud and constantly getting hit with rocks and stuff? I mostly ride like big open pits and trails. If im gonna get nailed with alot of stuff while riding im not gonna do it. But if those of you have it done and it doesnt really bother you let me know

This is the way I see it...if your out on the trail and you run through a puddle, no matter what your going to get dirty...with or without fenders...theres no way wou will go through and stay clean, so you might as well hack them if you like the look ;)

I can't ride with fenders anymore. It feels to weird. After a few weeks you get used to how much dirtier you get and it doesn't feel to bad.

I had race cuts for one ride. It was my biggest mistake to date. I had to stop every 100 yards and clean my goggles. Yes, you get dirty with stock fenders, but you get 200 times muddier with race cuts. I could see having them if you rode the dunes exclusively, but if you trail ride in wet conditions, there is no place for it.

i ride mostly in trails, and with the fenders it still slung stuff past the fenders. i never noticed any rocks being slung up. if you turn real sharp and lean into the turn, you might get a lil dirt or sand on you. but hey we dont ride to stay clean.

If you only ride trails then keep the fenders on. JMO

heres a thought....dont cut them completely race cut..... do some trimming that will open your view a little, change the look of your quad, and yet, still give ya some protection from the mud that will get to you no matter what ya do;) :blah

Well after i shaved mine I just noticed that dirt mostly would miss me and accumulate on the corners of the back fender. I love em shaved.

Its usually not to muddy where i ride. There is always the occasional puddle but normally i am aiming for it anyway and im not usually that worried about getting dirty.

I am going to Hatfiled Mccoy apriil 10th - 15th. Its probobly going to be good and muddy thier so i will most likely do it after that ride. Thanks for all the input.

Shaved fenders rock. When you run full fenders its gay. I have mine jagged cut and it gives it a sweet look. I like to see my whole front end as well. Like to see the shock movement also. I like getting muddy. If you dont want to get muddy get some honda rancher plastic and full floor boards. If you dont want to get dirty................ go home ya pansey! Never had trouble with sticks or rocks with cut front fenders.

i have the maier race cuts with some fender add ons when its super muddy out i put the add ons on but when its nice out you can just take em off and have the race cuts, but i would cut them its a heck of a lot nicer being able to see where your goin when your riding wheelies with race cuts on.

Dont do it for the look. This time of year, you will hate it. I've ridden 400's in the rain, and you get a constant stream of water on your boots, its really bad. On mine, its fine. I will only cut mine when I have another set of full ones. In the dry summer and winter, cut is awsome. During the spring, like I said, you will curse yourself for doing it.

If someone tells you that you don't get any muddier with race cuts, they've never ridden with them. You get 100 times muddier.
