View Full Version : Changing front brakes
I am having trouble with the front brakes i am trying to push the peice that pushes the brake pads together back in and it doesn't seem like it wants to go, any suggestions? thanks

Buy a C-clamp from your friendly neighborhood hardware store. A 5" one works well.

mayb have to much fluid in ur res... take some out and see if it will go then...

Try taking the front-brake reservior cover off when you do this. Two philips-head screws.
C-clamp is needed unless you got strong thumbs.
When you use a C-clamp, try not to put the clamps on the piston face. Use one of the old pads as a buffer.
If you take the reservoir cover off, be very careful not to let any brake fluid spill on plastic or paint. It will stain plastic and is a very effective paint remover.

I used channel locks to push the piston back in, it sounds like you might have to much brake fluid.
