ok i called my dealer and talked to him about installing my 416 with a hotcam stage II and J.e piston 10.8, but he said it would cost me about 300-350 in labor alone not to mention the 60 for boreing the cylinder , does this sound like crap to you? he want me to pay more labor then what me parts cost themself!?!?!?
and he also said when i do my 416 dont put a 14 tooth front sproket on it will make it launch like crazy but the top end will S-U-C-K please tell me yalls thoughts on this:mad:

i do work for people to make some extra cash.....i cahrge 200 + parts and boring.....so for a shop to get 300 doesnt seem bad. and a 14 th you wont need.....it will kill your topend and you should have plenty of torque out of the bottom from the high compression piston

yup. dealers make way to much per hour. just do it yourself. Its pretty easy and dosent take that long. with the service manual its all pretty well idiot proof. I liked the 14 toth on my 416. It liked to rev a little bit higher so the 14 made it go really well. i found with the 15 i was always lugging.

The guy's name wasn't Ben Dover, was it?
Get a manual and do it yourself. Besides the money you save, you'll learn some very important stuff about how your motor works--that itself could end up being invaluable when you run into future problems. The more you know about your bike, the less times you'll get it in the pooper by a dealer!!:eek2:

I agree do it yourself. It is very easy with the manual just follow it step by step and it wont even take you that long.

My local dealer charged me 5 hrs @ $57.50 an hour. I wanted to do it myself, but I don't have a garage, and it was the middle of winter.

your going to pay big $ to have a dealer do it for ya.I just did mine and it wasnt that bad.It wound up costing me about 400 for everything, with me doing the labor. But i bought new head bolts and a whole case of valvoline 4 stroke oil.So that was $60+.
Do you guys have much riding over there?looks like your about a little over two hrs away.
