Ok so i have a 2005 trx 450r. the thermostat went bad and the fan quit working... so i took the wire that plugs in to the temp sensor/ thermostat that screws into the motor. i grounded that wire to the frame to make the fan run all the time. Some people say this will retard your timing. Is this true. it seems to run fine and everything but i havent got it out to really ride around yet. thanks:ermm::ermm::ermm:

It IS completely fine to run with your fan grounded to the frame. Whoever told you that would have an effect on your timing has no business giving anyone advice.

yup, as mentioned it's totally fine to do this. The 450 fans seem to never run in my experience, or at least they only run when it's really hot. If you don't like it running all the time, you can wire a switch to the same wire you grounded and then you can turn it off and on as you please.
