Driveshaft anyone??? j/k... thats one of the reasons I wanted driveshaft. My buddy use to breack chains all the time... Untill he noticed that one of his sprokets was warped and was causing too much strain on the chain at higher RPM's

Only thing I can think of is his chain is not tightened properly..probably to tight and when his rear end compress's it stretches the chain to it's braking point..

Sounds like something else is wrong. Like Rico said, check the chain tension, probably wouldn't hurt to check the axle bearings either.:)

A properly tuned chain drive system shouldn't have any problems.

Check the swing arm bearings and bolt also. A buddy of mine was breaking a chain a ever other week or so on his Banshee. He changed axle bearings, chain slide, put in an Amp link. Come to find out the bearings were gone in the swing arm pivot bolt. He hasen't had a problem since.
Just an idea...

The one time I had my chain break i took my bike up to the honda shop and had them make the chain cuz i didn't have a chain breaker. Thye said the chain that broke got a rock stock in it. I don't know if he was right or he was just tell me that to get me to leave

I know this is kinda off subject...but I run a non o ring chain...I know it may not last as long....but it doesn't kink up like the o-ring chains...i hate that.....lol just my .02

I run a non o-ring chain too. If you dont have o-rings it i guess you would say "circulates" better. Not a noticable difference to moto cross riders, but if draggers look at your times you can see a little improvement in the times

Yup last night my 250r was looking sad sitting there all apart in the basement when I busted out the motion pro chain breaker............poor thing didnt stand a chance. lol :D

i snapef a new o-ring chain on the 250r under hard accel. orn pavment, the chains and sprockets were 2 weeks old,i have heard o-ring chains rob horse power on thumpertalk but i don't know if it's true or not

They do rob some power but it is so little you will not notice it UNLESS you drag race and you are timed then you will notice a tiny increase with non O-ring.:huh
