How do you make a 400 sit low to the ground and handle like a 250r??????

Aftermarket shocks (PEP, TCS, Elka, etc.) with SSD or ZPS will lower your quad.

zero preload (or what ever name you like for it) will help but it is still not going to sit like an R or atleast a race prepped one.

The long travel (19" shocks only) front ends come very close but currently there isnt a bolt on reat lt set up and even with the zps etc it wont sit as low and that causes you to raise the front to regain balance front to rear.

Do a search on LT rear and check out what its about.

Just do what I do:

1. Back your preload off some to get about 3" of sag.

2. Weigh 260lbs. :D

I have also heard a different subframe will give it a lower look. The 400EX sub has a little kick up in it

If you know someone who can do some fabricationg, you could probly build your own subframe. Or just buy an LSR, Laeger or Burgard. I think there may be some sort of change in seat height w/ those brands, but not 100% sure.

for the lt rear setup you have to cut and move the rear shock mount foward 1 inch i believe, talk to forum or trx400 they are doing it or have done it, i will soon be also doing this.... elka will build you a rear lt shock for the same price as their dual rate with ssd, comp and rebound adjustment...

also smaller tires will help, zero preload, and that is all i can think of right now....

When i put my PEP ZPS all around, it really lowered my quad, then the +2 a arms helped to. and i've got 19" fr. tires and 18" rr. so that helps as well.

I've got a question. If i switched to a long travel front end, would i have to buy new shocks or could baldwin convert my 16 inchers to 19?

the 19 inch shock is a different shock, if it could be converted from 16 inch, all you could reuse is the rezzys and hoses
