I have a big 9yr old thats wanting to move up to a bigger quad w/shifter so I have traded for a honda 400ex roller and I'm wanting to use some sort of small 2 stroke powerplant But I don't know where to start. At the moment my 6yr old and 9yr old are sharing a quick well built Suzuki LT80 and the sharings not going as planned because the younger usually has a quicker time in the rodeo events we attend. This quad cannot use a powerplant w/ over 110cc from the factory. We can do anything we want to achive max power-stroker,bigbore,etc.what powerplants produce great power for the cc limitation I have?:D

Did you get ahold of the dirt bike motor you was telling me about at one point? that would be the perfect start

Cr85 all the way! Durable and parts are cheap.

CR85 is a good choice... Depending on your budget, the new 2014 KX85 engine is supposed to be badas*. I will have a BUILT CR90 for sale very soon... Also a 101cc Honda.... Both are extremely powerful and fast... the 101cc has more lowend grunt...

will I need to fab some sort of motor mounts or can I buy some that are made for the 400ex/cr85 conversion?

Oh you'll need to make brackets... more than likely you be able to put the rear of the CR engine through the swingarm bolt. Then make a spacer to push the motor over to line up the sprockets. Then make front brackets to hold the front of the engine up and secure.
