What would cause the reeds to explode outward towards the carb?

is it the stock reed cage or after market !
ive had to keep up on these vforce tasanari reeds
as for back towards the carb ,is the piston in correctly ?? not even sure if that would happen
i think Mark at hot quads should know !

Stock cage and reeds also motor stock. It blew the reeds up though the cage and into the carb.

A two stroke sucks and pushes air both.. depending on when they broke up is where they'd end up....
