Well the old sparkplug will tighten up and the new ones won't. Yup its cross threded. So how do i get this fixed? Its for a 400ex.

heli coil...need to remove the head tho

a helicoil should work. Not really a big deal.

you can try a thread chaser .may keep you from having to remove the head.

I know all about helicoil. lol hence the name "breaks-alot" The only thing i was worried about was if that is to much compression for a helicoil to hold?

take the head off regardless of what u use, cause u dont want anything to call down in your cylinder

I helicoiled one of the studs for my cylinder head and it is working fine. Actually feels like it torques better that the ones that are not helicoiled. You dont torque a sparkplug that tight so i dont think it will give you anytrouble at all. Compression is going to have to be really high to actually blow the plug out of the hole.

Besides, if the hole is already messed up, what have you got to lose.
