400ex motor problems...

I just recently rebuilt the motor in my 400 and everything in the motor is turning except the top end. (cam and valves)... The timing chain turns a 1/4 of a turn and locks up but the rest of the motor is turning..... Does anybody know what could cause this, i have readjusted the valves and set it back in time multiple times and cant figure at anything else.... :mad:

Timing chain is either not on the gear properly or is binding for some reason. I would inspect it as best you can and see if its bound up.

Check to make sure your cam is moving properly in the buckets. Also check your cam bearings.
