I have 4 trx 400's 1999/2001,we are a family of trail riders. my wife had a catstrophic carrier issue,as in it and the bearings turned into scap metal. so I replaced the whole carrier there.decided to go through and check the rest of the quads and it is a good thing I did. on one the bearings were still good but could not get them out of the carrier without damaging either bearings,collar or carrier,wrapped it in tin foil,put it in the oven for 30 minutes on 300(my wife does not need to know this) took it out banged it on a 2x6 and the bearings popped right out. hope this helps someone.
