I THINK I HAVE FOUND THE PROBLEM,THIER IS A GEAR BEHIND THE OIL GEAR THAT HAS A TOOTH BROKE OFF DONT NO WHAT CAUSED IT BUT MAYBE THAT IS IN.DOES ANYONE KNOW ABOUT THE CLUTCH ON THE 4OOEX DOES IT HAVE SOMEPLAY I THE MOVEMENT,OR DOES IT POSE TO BE SOLID LIKE THE 250R.
Sounds like the exact same thing that happened to mine a few days ago. Third gear on the countershaft had 2 teeth broke off and the main tranny shaft was bent pretty bad. What caused it was a piece off the bottom of my sleeve broke off and got in there. It wasn't pretty. Anyways, $158 later I have the parts on the way. Still if anyone knows why this cylinder would have broke please let me know.
