05 trx chain tensioner question

Hey guys my 05 trx400ex is making a noise and I was wondering if there is a way to take off the chain tensioner to see if it works right or broke ?? If it is ill change it besides setting the valves ?? Any help on this would be great thanks

Straight from the service manual. After you turn it clockwise with a straight blade screwdriver just pull it out and listen if it springs back out. If it doesn't then it needs replaced.
