View Full Version : will a 250r shifer fit a 400ex?

just got a quick question. i wanna buy a pro design shifter from somebody but its off a 250r. i am just wondering how good it would work on my EX.

nope, shafts are differant sizes. I believe the R shaft is bigger

Did for me.

300ex, 250x, 250r, 400ex have the same spline count, and shaft size.

Pretty sure, FINAL ANSWER.:)

I have the shifter from ny 400 and 250R's side by side........the shaft sizes are different.....

If the splines are the same, you can probably take grinder and a longer pinch bolt and make it fit.

I wonder what the heck I swapped out on those bikes.....???

yeah i knoe for a fact that they are. Atleast an 86 is differant cause thats what i had, and the shifter was way to big for the EX

haha well i don't really know if it'll work or not but the guy i'm buyin it from is gonna try it on an EX. i'll let you guys know if it works.
