I'm getting ready to put in a 416 kit so I'm woundering which gaskets and anything else I'm gonna need to get the ratio I want. I don't know what ratio I want yet so I need you guys help. I don't want to run 100% race gas because that is gonna get too expensive. I want to be able to run supreme pump gas or maby a 50/50 mixture. I also want the most power I can get. I'm thinking about the Ross piston because it is lighter and a stage 2 hotcam. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Also does C&D carry Ross?

I have ran a JE 416 10.8:1 on good pump gas and once and a while mix 50/50.. We do carry the ross pistons and they are a little lighter than the JE..

Have any of you felt the difference between a 10.8:1 and say a 11.1 ratio? Is it a big difference? 11.1 ratio you have to run full race gas right? Is there anything between those two?

you won't be able to tell the difference

10.5:1 or so would be good for pump gas

yea.... 10:8:1.....then u can run good pump gas and still not be killing your quad.

Go with a 10.8 piston and run an xr head gasket which will bring it to about 11:1. You can run it off pump gas, maybe a little octane boost wont hurt. The stage 2 is also a good cam for the 416. This is the setup I am gunna run when I do my 416 in early April.:macho
