Well I'm on a 15 yearold budget but I have about $500-800 to use for my quad, my mods are on my sig and I'll be mx racing in a year and lots of trail riding. I have the choice of getting a je piston 416 kit w/ a hotcam, not sure which stage yet. Or I'll get a nice used pair of elka's or some nice pair of shocks on ebay. thanks for any help, by the way if I make enough $ this summer I'll be getting bolth..-thanks darren

SHOCKS!!!!!! get your suspension done first. All the motor in the world is not going to help if you can't take full advantage of it.

If I was building another one, suspension would me the first mod. So go with the shocks, it is better to be in control. ;)

Suspension first. If you have any left over cash through a slip on or a filter on there. Overpowering your suspension has more of a negitive effect then having more suspension and less motor, especially when it comes to MX.

i say shocks because you cannot use all of your motor with out better suspension. Plus a way better ride.

like everyone else said, suspension first, cuz u can have 1000hp and if ya cant handle it ull still be slow

Definately the shocks!!!!! You will be able to use all the stock power after you get some decent cushion going on!:D

If you were just out riding with your friends, I'd say go with the engine mods. Between friends, its all about drag racing, top speed, and bragging rights.

Since you plan on racing, I'd say suspension is DEFINITELY more important than power. I'd even go so far as to say you'd get better performance from extended A-arms, axle, and a cheap set of shocks than you would get from stock A-arms and top of the line shocks.

I agree with everyone in here but I'm going with engine mods first because I have the most fun drag racing my friends in Pismo and all the shocks in the world aren't going to win those drag races with out more power.

remember I alreddy have some motor mods so I should be good w/ engine for awhile..engine mods including- modded FMF mega maxII slip on
dyno jet kit
grinded header welds
uni filter
custom air scoops
