I think we'll see some more big bore quads 600-700cc like the v-force, but maybe something sportier with chain drive. I think atvs will follow the lines of snowmobiling somewhat. I would however like to see a high proformance LC four stroke around 400-500cc.

Ive heard from a couple people that Yamaha is coming out with a 450 high performance quad. I think that I saw it in dirt wheels also. Im not positive if their coming out with a 450 thats just something thats been going around.

According to my dealer, Honda "DOES NOT make 'racing quads' ", and they have no intention of starting:confused: .....sounds crazy to me, the market is obviously there....

They don't have to make a race quad just a good platform for one.

46 - 47" wide stock
aluminum or 4130 chromoly frame
450cc area
liquid cooled
350 - 370 pound dry weight
30 - 35 hp at the wheels
better suspension than the 400ex
Fuel injection would be cool and Honda knows a lot about it but if not a good carb will do fine.

DON'T GO NUTS DETUNING IT ON US!!!!!!

keep the price under 7k

And let's get it on (Mills Lane voice)

:huh

Does anyone make a 'race' quad? I thought they were all 'sport' quads.. :D

That's it.. all you 400EX owners quit racing.. or at the very least try to stop doing so well on your 'non-race quads'..

lol

cdale made what i would consider a race quad...honda makes trail ridin quads, a race quad should have at least 40 hp at the rear wheels

i went to the cycle shop near me (kawasaki) and they had the KFX700 V-Twin. thats a tank! shaft drive and 2wd! he said its ideal for racing and i could hardly lift the back end. any one on here have one? i think its too heavy for a 2wd. plus its an auto

saw one for the first time out riding this weekend - man that thing is huge - but it hauls. The guy was smoking everyone at the drags. They would all get the jump on him because it's a auto, but by the time they hit second he would just start leaving them, banshees and all...

nobody kbnows for sure who is making the black widow yet but most people assume its gonna be ATK since they just released their 700cc 2 stroke dirtbike.
