Valve lapping. HELP Quick!

Hey I am lapping the valves on an XR 80 and have never done it before. I have lapping compound and the valves removed right now. Do I just put the compound on the seats and the valves themselves and put them back in? Please reply.

you need a valve laping tool. It suctions to the valve and spins it to cause the desired abrasion with the compound. lap as little as possible
