I have a 1999 400ex and was planning on getting elka tripple rate w/o rezzies do i need to have the rear shock rebuilt ? or will it be fine and if so how much would it cost

You don't need the rear shock rebuilt unless you feel that it isn't performing right. It will be noticably better than stock, but its not a necessity. Rebuilds run anywhere from $90 to $300 or so.

Your rearend will sit higher than your front do to the fronts having the SSD spring.. it's not a must but a very good upgrade with the fronts..;)
