Ok Im at the point where Im gonna start assembling the cr80 hybrid, Ive discovered that I can make it a reverse trike using the cr80 swingarm and have the project up and running ahead of schedule.

Should I continue with hybrid 400ex mx/play atv or should I try to build this off road reverse trike hybrid using 10in rear dirtbike tires as front tires with a cr80 rearend and motor?

Kinda like a can am spyder dirtbike......:uhoh:

What do you guys wanna see most?

Really the reverse trike would work but be mainly for people to say WTF was that!!!

I like the idea. You would definitely draw the wow factor. But, functionally, I think forward traction would be an issue.

I wanna do the trike so bad!

Im just worried about the strength of the rear rim and spokes going side to side instead of leaning into turns at high speeds.

Any thoughts?

Reason is WHY? The cool factor I can see but it wont really be able to do much except straight lines...

Ya, straight lines and drift is about it, kinda like the same thing as a spyder.

Heres the first mock up, Im gonna put the front plastic on and front tires and set it on the ground sometime this week and get a better look at what the finished product might look like.

mounting it and centering it is the easiest part, the shock and link will be tough.

Look into using some parts from the old Honda Gyro's, Three wheel moped with articulation. I had one when I was a kid. Those wheel(s) could be used and are solid. Make the front articulate to a point but still get the drift while using the sidewall. Something like that you could have a chance at getting it inspected for road use lol.

come up with a way to mount the cr80 suspension so that it doesnt interfere with the 400ex suspension... try the trike idea, if you dont like it switch to a 400.. or switch for different types of riding.

Would a xr400 swing arm mount up to the 400ex?

Im not sure, I do know after building one honda hybrid and in the middle of another that almost all these honda parts fit already or need light modifying to fit.

I know a cr250 swingarm will mount up kinda like this cr80 swingarm, I bet the xr and cr swingarms are almost identicle.
